Queer Arts Festival 2014
A defiant reframing of the Nazi concept of “Degenerate Art”, ReGenerations celebrates a queer heritage that is fecund, generative, and innovative. Handed down by artists across generations and national boundaries. We speak to ideas of healing and renewal, addressing topics such as addiction, bullying, and international LGBTI rights, while providing a creative outlet for the most vulnerable members of our communities: youth, refugees, and those in recovery.
Curated by Laiwan and Anne Riley, Queering the International is this season’s flagship curated exhibition, featuring work by queer artists who are immigrant, indigenous, undocumented, or displaced. The artists creatively work towards a liberating diaspora and/or indignity.
